So, 2009 was a year of big changes for pretty much everybody who doesn't live off the land in the backwoods of America. Everyone has been adjusting to a new reality of times in which tomorrow may not necessarily be better than today. Where prosperity is not necessarily a given.
But even with all the dark and discouraging talk and pessimistic forecasts I see good things. We as a whole have grown up a bit in this last year and a half. We have learned lessons (some painful, some hopeful), made new friendships, and relearned what really matters in our lives. I for one am grateful for the opportunity to see things differently.
But I have to say, the thing I am most grateful for is being back here, at Dry Creek and University, framing memories for all the people I have come to love and care about in the seven years I have framed here. It may sound trite, but to be able to give my customers something beautiful and functional to show off the things they love is one of the great joys in my life. As an artist I gave most of my work away, so it could be enjoyed, and as a framer I get the same satisfaction. You may not think about me as you look at your art there on the wall (I really kind of hope you don't), but my joy is in knowing I made your life a little more beautiful, and a little brighter. Thank you for giving me that opportunity! And I look forward to serving you for years to come!

This is an old post from Bethany that I posted while I worked on laying this blog out.
